There are
many reasons that induce a sponsor to use the "sports
sector" as an advertising vehicle.
Today sport sponsorship has reached high propaganda levels such as
to render the right value to the brand name. Thanks to the
positive image produced by Italy's participation in the America's
Cup with the "Moro di Venezia" (1992) and now with the
'Prada Team', interest in this sector by prestigious brand names has
grown considerably.
This may be noted also by the fact that the media increasingly
report the enterprises of sailors of the calibre of Giovanni
Soldini, and of the excellent placing of Italian teams in
international competitions, Cino Ricci's Round Italy Sail and
the Trieste Barcolana, to name but some examples. Some of the
biggest national and international companies (Kodak, Osama, Audi,
Wind, Parmalat, Q8 Oil, Heineken, Telecom Italia, Murphy & Nye,
Tnt Traco, etc.) have chosen sailing as an advertising and
communications vehicle to increase awareness of their brands and
products through the media at worldwide level. In fact sailing sums
up certain values that consumers recognise as being very important:
respect for the environment, quality, prestige, technology and
progress, to give only some examples. The Riviera di Rimini Sailing
Team Press and External Relations Office can guarantee such
communication by means of the organisation of press conferences,
drawing up texts and consequent redemption.
Comunication
Right from the start the Team aimed at communication, convinced
that only a suitable media impact could guarantee the satisfaction
of sponsors investing in an enterprise of this kind.
Within the Riviera di Rimini Sailing Team there is a group of
people dedicated exclusively to Press Office and external
relations activities.
In the course of the year the Press Office

But not only this:
the Team structures also organise the following activities: Assistance in presentation of Sponsors' products, backup to
Sponsors' logistics, presence at trade fairs in Italy and abroad,
exhibitions and various events.
The
Team also has access to an internationally famous photographer,
Fabio Taccola
of Leghorn, who handles the whole image of the Team's activities.
When RIVIERA DI RIMINI races, Taccola is there with his camera to
guarantee a high quality product, appreciated and admired in all
quarters. Taccola's finest product is a book of photographs which is
already in its second edition: "RIVIERA DI RIMINI Sailing Team Story
- Technology, resources and professionalism of a territory projected
into the future".
Television
production is handled by
Marco D'Alberti of Rome who ensures TV cover in Italy
and abroad of the images created by the Team. He too is present at
the races, directing the cameraman, selecting the best shots and
distributing them to national (including local) and international
broadcasters.
